Ecologist with fifteen years'
experience of nature conservation work, mainly as a
Conservation Officer for the Nature Conservancy Council (NCC - government
nature conservation body for Britain until 1991) and then for English
Nature (EN - the body which replaced NCC in England). Detailed knowledge
of UK and European nature conservation law and practice. Wide experience
of survey, assessment and management of natural habitats. Ecological consultant,
writer and lecturer on environmental matters.
Also a partner in Hillcroft Conservation Grazing , which uses traditional-breed cattle to carry out management of heathland and grassland habitats in the Ringwood area.
Associate of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Managers (AIEEM)
Lives on the edge of the New Forest with partner, poultry, horses and cattle. Enjoys wildlife, sailing, cycling, driving (horses) and riding.
