Richard Collingridge Profile Background Experience


Born in 1959 in Mwanza, Tanzania, moved to UK at age 3. Brought up on the chalk North Downs, at Guildford, Surrey, an old market town about 50km/30 miles south of London.

Studied Ecology at University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, on the coast of Cardigan Bay, graduating in 1980 with a BSc Hons.

Did various activities in central Wales, including labouring on stock farms, doing a teaching course, running a school holiday centre, and finally running the local voluntary nature conservation body in Radnor, Powys, now called Radnor Wildlife Trust.

From 1985 worked for the government conservation body NCC (later EN) in Surrey, moving to Kent in 1988. In 1998 set up an independent consultancy in the New Forest, Hampshire.
