Ellie (12) has joined Kate (14) at grammar school, and seems to be doing very well indeed. They moved house in the summer and are now only a few minutes walk from school. Kate has added clarinet playing to French horn, flute, recorder and piano, and is becoming interested in writing music too. She had a wonderful week at a wind band summer school--the final concert was very good, and with several dozen enthusiastic brass instruments in a limited space, also very loud! She is still an active Scout, and spends a lot of time on hikes and Duke of Edinburgh's Award trips.
